Robin Gormly

Studio Manager

Robin’s love for film began early, with two parents who loved movies. She was inspired by a wide range of genres and a deep appreciation for the craft behind the camera. When she sat down at the edit desk for the first time in college, eight hours vanished in what seemed like an hour. From that point on, she was hooked. Studying both editors and directors helped build her skills and appreciation for the art of editing.

At CONNECTIVE, Robin begins by understanding how video(s) can be of help to their clients and the client’s audience, so that needs and goals can be met. With a collaborative vision, she delivers assets that are on message, succinct, and with a fresh approach. Robin approaches her work as a methodical puzzle, with attention to detail and maintaining good communication. She strives to make people feel at ease on camera, so their message comes through naturally and effectively.

Much of Robin’s career has been working for post houses and in-house creative teams. Her work spans documentaries, fiction films, nonprofits, marketing, and educational content—always with the goal of creating connection and impact. Robin’s roles include editor, producer, director, and occasional scriptwriter, but collaboration and bringing a concept to life are the best parts of her job.

She earned her B.S. in Film from the University of Minnesota and an M.A. in Radio, Television, and Film from North Texas State University. Outside of work, Robin enjoys time outdoors with family and friends, good conversation, great films, and lifelong learning.
